Lifestyle Portraits of the Goss family
While planning our very first family vacation that involved air travel I thought it would be a lot of fun to include film in capturing our trip. For me, a trip to Florida screamed instant film. As well, much of my childhood was documented on Polaroid. Since an instant film camera is not one of the many cameras I own I posted an open call on Facebook “Anyone have a polaroid camera I can borrow for? I would love to take some personal family photos with it?” Within a short period of time I had a handful of responses from a number of very generous people offering to lend me their cameras. One of these people was Aron, a very talented photographer who I had never met. A lot has changed since then with Aron and I working together on several occasions and hanging out just as often. A couple weeks ago I finally got to meet his beautiful family during one of our lifestyle portrait sessions at the Toronto Zoo. It is hard not to put any extra pressure on yourself when photographing another photographer. Luckily I was so distracted with how much fun I was having with their adorable daughter that the nerves I was feeling leading up to their session quickly vanished.
Here is the story of a family that I am very happy to call close personal friends trip to the Toronto Zoo.
