Portraits in Paris | Anastasia + Andrea

Recently I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Europe to photograph Andrea & James’ destination wedding in Greece on a beautiful island called Spetses. This was my very first trip to Europe and because I had a some time available before their wedding day I made a brief stopover on my way to Greece in Paris.
On the morning of my last day in Paris I decided to check out the Pont des Arts bridge, located near the Louvre. This is one of the many bridges that provide a great view of the River Seine. What sets this bridge apart from any other is that couples come here from all over the world to show their undying love. Placing a lock on the Pont des Arts bridge fence with their names written on it before throwing the key into the river is a tradition people in love have been doing for years. These love locks are a must to check out while visiting Paris. A few weeks prior to my stopover in Paris a cousin of mine who had recently gotten engaged placed one of these locks on the fence. I thought it would be fun to see if I could find it. As luck would have it, I was able to find their lock with a little help from him.
While looking for their lock I was having a pleasant chat with a fellow from Italy. He was watching his wife have her photo taken by a local photographer. What started out as a brief chat quickly developed into a great conversation with his wife joining in after her shoot was finished. Seeing that Anastasia enjoyed having her photo taken, I thought I would offer to take a few portraits of the two of them together. Without hesitation they took me up on my offer. After taking a few photographs of this beautiful couple the three of us sat down together for an espresso. We all enjoyed each others company so much that we ended up spending the entire day together walking the streets of Paris. The two of them visit this stunning city a few times every year so they had a wealth of knowledge they were sharing with me during our walk. I couldn’t resist the awesome backdrop so while we toured around together I would stop them every once and a while to capture a few photos. My last day in Paris ended with a wonderful and very delicious dinner on Rue Mouffetard with fantastic company.

Thank you very much Anastasia and Andrea for such a memorable day. It was the perfect way to end my first of hopefully many trips to such a romantic city.
