Angus Glen engagement party – surprise wedding photos | Danielle + Jay

On August 5th 2011 Danielle and Jay’s closest friends and family joined them at the Angus Glen Golf Club and Conference Centre for what they believe was going to be a beautifully hosted engagement party.
Lets back-up a little, around 2 hours prior to the start of the “engagement party” where their wedding photos begin with Jay anxiously waiting for his bride-to-be to arrive for their reveal. Because of the timeline of their day we photographed most of their creative couple portraits as well as all the bridal party photos and family formals before any of the guests arrived. Once we wrapped from photographing the family formals Danielle, Jay and their bridal part changed into their engagement party attire with a few minutes to spare before any guests arrived for cocktails. As the cocktail was winding down the sneaky couple were able to disappear with their bridal party. Once all the guests were seated Danielle’s brother Evan introduced himself and proceeded to explain there was a very large surprise that was about to unfold. At that moment the wedding officially started with Danielle appearing in her white wedding dress being escorted by her father. The reactions from all their friends and family were priceless! Well worth all the hard work and planning that went into creating a very memorable night for everyone. Here are the highlights from their exciting and very non-traditional wedding.

Creative Whitby engagement photos | Danielle + Jay

We knew within the first 5 minutes of meeting Danielle and Jay at the Angus Glen Bridal Show that they would be a super fun couple to photograph. After sitting down with them and learning all about their very cool non-traditional wedding plans we were even more excited to be part of their big day. When it came time to discuss where they would like to shoot their engagement photos they were completely open to any ideas we had. At the end of our conversation it was decided that a very non-tradional location was going to be incorporated into their eSession, keeping with the theme of being different. They had visited this area in north Whitby many times without ever thinking they would be photographed there, especially for their engagement photos. The spot we chose features vibrant colours a dash of nature and fantastic evening light. Before we reveal the location here is a selection of photographs from their engagement session.

Thanks to Scotia Bank, the LCBO, Great Canadian Superstore and storm water management pond in North Whitby’s Smart Centre for providing us with the perfect location for Danielle and Jay’s engagement session.
